A lovely recording of Thank You For The Music by ABBA, performed by Elaine Page.

This was especially recorded for a radio broadcast in 2009.

  • This video is good - not because of Elaine's singing, but because this is the first time you hear what is pretty much the original piano part of ABBA's own version.

  • elaine sings live, on the air, no editing. her voice has of course changed over the years as she has used it quite heavely, doing lots and lots of musicals, which means 8 shows a week! she is still and will always be a fantastic singer!! do you have the entire radio show?? been looking for it everywhere!

  • Well, when you hear to Agnetha's voice it might be weak live - it was indeed - listen to some amateur recordings here on YouTube

But on the other hand her voice was always pure... nothing comparable to Elaine who we can listen to here - 40 years of singing 8 shows a week andthe effecte is audible...

A propos cabaret version....check this one - Doris Day Thank you for the music by Agnetha;D

  • What a horrible Version ... The Voice is absolute not mtaching for this Song. She not 1% good as Agnetha and Frida .. how comes Benny make such a perfromance .... the thinking of the two BB's is sometime little bit strange after ABBA.

  • ABBA was the first one to record track by track and I sincerely think this is one of the first attemts of dubbing with recorded and live sounds together. Which is not same as live performance wihtout any echo and other effects.

Agnetha IS the best female singer of pop (records), of all times. Which her "If I thought you'd ever change your mind..." a couple of years back (check Youtube) proves.

But I am still amazed what a woman of 61 years (Elaine) can sound like today... woah!

  • I do think it is live....very different from any recorded version I have heard......Agnetha might have been "weak" live, but this song she always did well. I love Elaine Paige, but this version is caberet, and I just prefer Agnetha's interpretation.

  • You think that is live? It is rather best amateurish attemp of a dubbing (lip synching) of the 70s that I have ever seen.

Agnetha IS the best female singer of pop. Of all times; no doubt about that.

Her voice would have never lasted those 15 years on stage though. Musical theater is totally different thing than recording and tours.

  • OH I love Elaine's voice, but check out ABBA singing TYFTM on Mike Yardwood's show here on YouTUBE. It is a live performance, at least for the singing.

  • I bet that you haven't heard Agnetha singing it like this, the sound of the fully produced album and a radio show clip live performance are two totally different things, you know?

I find it amazing that Elaine sounds like this after all those 15 years on stage - 8 show a week.

That tells something about her singing technic. Compared to all those Madonnas and Streisands who have ripped her songs for years :(

  • Agnetha owns this song............and with Frida in the choruses, nothing better.
