I put together some of photos of the fly fishing trip.
I get to test my new camera on this trip and all I can say is "It's an awesome camera".

Like I said on my other videos, fishing wasn't great but the surrounding was just gorgeous.
The local fishing report on walk-in section was misleading although I didn't have trouble catching more than few.
No wonder there weren't many fly fishermen on the river, most people can't catch any trout all day.
If you like to catch some nice trout better head to San Juan River, NM and look me up.

  • Great pictures! Thanks for sharing :-) I have never fished Lee's Ferry, but i used to hike down Jackass Creek Canyon, just before Navajo Bridge on the south side and fishing was awesome! I do a lot of fishing on the rim and White Mountains from a kayak now. Since I haven't fished Lee's Ferry, would it be possible to fish from a kayak in the general area where the "walk-in" area is?

  • @elefantdude I'm sure you can fish from kayak. There's a boat dock where I was catching trout using my dry fly pattern in the evening on other video can be really good for it. I think I may have fished where you described or across from it and caught some nice trout bigger than average size walk-in section but that was few years back. Suggest you to check with local fly shop to get up to dated fishing report before head out there. Happy fishing!

  • Great pictures, my girlfriend and I are taking a backpacking/fly trip into the Grand Canyon. Any suggestions on where we should hike in?

  • We only fished Mable Canyon area in walk in section this time, from boat ramp to about 1 ½ miles downstream. Last time I fished this river was 5 or 6 yrs ago and fished further down stream about ½ mile upstream from pay station which requires some difficult hiking. Overall fishing isn't very good for most people on Colorado River. If your main purpose of the trip is fishing then try San Juan or some CO streams otherwise enjoy the scenery. AK
