  • Actually, he is right, the congress voted to celebrate Washington's birthday during his last year in office. A one time deal and the earliest on record. And from time to time it voted to celebrate it again before it became official. And it even now differs in several states whose legislatures vote their own holdays.

  • I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,

And to the incompetent republic for which it stands, One nation

Under God, divided, with liberty for the wealthy and the welfare

    and justice for few

  • Doug Wead is a revisionist scum! He obviously knows absolutely nothing about history. Firstly there is NO such thing as presidents day. The holiday is George Washington's Birthday. The holiday was created to honor the father of our country and the one man who was almost single handedly responsible for the founding of our nation. Washington is the only person in US history worthy of a holiday with Jefferson a distant second. A misguided Nixon tried and FAILED to change it to Presidents day.

  • Great interview.

  • interesting notion that we "celebrate" seems to me that it is more that we honor them than a celebration.

  • once again Wead does a great job!

  • did he mention how long has it been celebrated?
