Lauren Faust makes a big announcement regarding her Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls creations at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con. Recorded on July 23 but I waited a day to post it so she could break the news first on her blog. :)

  • What is it about Lauren Faust that makes girly things so desirable for guys... I mean, even back when she was on Powerpuff Girls, I'm a guy, but man, I LOVED that show when I was a kid! And then, of course, she hit the goldmine when she made my little pony.

  • Dope

I'm an 18 year old male but...I'm thinking about picking up those dolls. They look pretty cool.

  • How come she never talks about mlp? I know this is from 2009 but even her recent interviews dont mention mlp or bronies.

  • @Kari166 Really, she's an example of what all feminists should be like. She hates every character being cutest-wootsy, and whatnot, but she's not afraid to have a character or two in like that anyway. Fact is, some girls ARE like that.

Also a fact, some girls.. are NOT like that.

She balanced it out, with traditional girly characters, and tomboyish and hard working characters, aswell as the bookworm Twilight, which is a pretty unisex role.

I just like how well she did that.

  • @anarchogamer, I think she's trying to get it pitched as a TV show, but hasn't had much luck with CN. For now, Milky has it's own website and a few dolls.

  • @Darksteal2k7, she's a feminist. (No, NOT a Feminazi)

She believes that TV shows and such for girls don't have to be "a puddle of smooshy, cutesy-wootsy, goody-two-shoeness." <---Her own words.

She made FiM for little girls and their parents to enjoy, including male parents, obviously.

  • @Darksteal2k7 Dude, this opened my eyes! this morning I was thinking "when I was little, most girls show sucked, except for powerpuff girls and now mlp". She was doing PPG? no wonder! I cant wait for galaxy girls either. will be cool.

  • @Darksteal2k7 Probably because she makes entertainment that portrays girls as interesting, real human beings and not as walking trivial stereotypes.

  • @eurodraco that makes two of us

  • @Ardhamon5000 yea. who would?

  • @hemanshera777 I wouldn't be surprised.

  • I love how you can see a supernatural poster in the background made me laugh lol
