It is unfortunate that adults honestly believe that they can walk into the political arena and demand a position of their choice. If one is not willing to call, knock on doors, or even go to H.S. football games to campaign, they need to explore other career opportunities and visit a psychiatrist that specializes in delusions. It is a dangerous game. The 'entitled, position demander' would be chewed up and spit out if she proceeded to volunteer for anything.

I actually worked (paid) for a few months for a Congressional campaign that had no chance of success. Phone banking sucks...I'm pretty sure I've talked to everyone in in a congressional district I don't even live in, and most of them hate me despite not knowing who I am. But door knocking is kind of fun. You talk to a couple of neat people and it's not like you're doing something that can be measured for success anyway.

I was laughing out loud until my mind flooded with memories of how many times I've heard someone say pretty much what she says here. Earnest, Ambitious, Entitled. And not very useful to a winning effort.
