My mate owns a Taylor 314ce Flip HD. Wicked picture quality

are thoughs elixirs? i love elixirs because they are the smoothest to move from chord to chord on, ontop of that they sound great and last for way longer than most guitar strings.

Very nice. Beautiful quality camera. I'm a 214ce owner myself

Nice job Mac. Good to meet another 314 player. I've thought ever seen they came out that these were going to become known as THE guitar to tour with since they don't carry the hefty price-tag of something like a 914 but sound and play just as good if you find the right one. I think it's probably the best sub $2000 guitar out there.
That flip video looks nice too. I'm anxious to record something with my new HD cam now.

sounds great...what tuning is that?
Forgot to ask, what kind of strings? I'm experimenting with different ones on my 314ce.

Strings are the basic Elixer Nanoweb Lights. Not sure if they're the best sounding, but they last a while. And I hate to change strings :)

What's the name of that song you're playing?

It's really no song at all...just a little jam or riff. I'm painfully bad at learning songs that people recognize...preferring just to make stuff up as I go along.

This vid was really just a test to see how to upload from a new Flip HD. But the tuning is standard, with a capo across the top 5 strings on the second fret. Playing in a 'D' fingering, it gives the tonal sense of a drop D tuning, but actually playing in the key of E. I've always liked this method, as it enables you to have that drop D sound, yet able to use the bottom string for chords like G.
