well it all started when someone put their decal on a surfboard. then someone put their logo on a t shirt.
the real surfers wore levis and white jc penny t shirts and huarches. combed their hair straight back.
but then the magazines came along and introduced the surfer lifestyle to everyone and then the kooks hit the beaches.
and yes today, all the pro surfers do the same moves- butt waggles and flip and like rock music and rock concerts its a micro brewed commercialized fag dance.

Surfing needs a new Chuck, a new voice of reason. There's no more free expression in the way people surf today either. Every move is choreographed to the point where "they all look alike". Give me a BK, Terry F., Gerry, etc. any day.

Jesus, what would Chuck have said about pro "soul surfers" making half million or more just for wearing clothes and taking surf trips aka Rob Machado, Kelly, Parkinson, and a slew of guys I've never heard of.......Dent was a classic..they don't make them like him anymore..too individualistic.

I grew up in HB at this time , Dent was a classic. Should have been a pro wrestler he had the rant.
