You really shouldn't grab it with that hook especially the blood. You can break their ribs.

Snake owners are so fucking weird.

@questthebest how are your snakes doing? Hopefully no issues with the lamps. :-D I finally have a pair (just ball pythons) One is a male het ghost, and the other is a female albino. Should make some sweet snakes in about 2 years.
Cheers!

one thing I don't like about your setup. is the lights. they hang down, and give the snake a chance to wrap itself around it. a friend of mine had a similar setup, and the snake is drawn to heat. his snake wrapped itself around the lamp and brunt the shit out of her belly. she had to be put down due to how bad the burn was. raise the lights (if you haven't) or have heat come from below, and have led lights from above.

If i can remember, for the red tail, I made that so all the supplies came to about 50 dollars. and the other i payed at target for like 25. but i dont reccommend that long plastic tub unless you have a rack system to cover it because it the middle of the long ass tub, there is no support, and when my blood got a little bigger, he was able to push through it. but the one i made is escape proof.

on the red tails cage what do you use for heating

i drilled a hole in the top corner of the cage and installed a standard light bulb base and instead of using a heat lamp bulb,i bought a ceramic heater bulb that is hooked up to a thermostat
