It's pity that the collection of his works is scattered over the whole world.Wouldn't it be nice to be able to see it as a whole?

After David Hockney's book, I look at Durer in a different light. Hockney makes a good case for the use of a camera lucida in the case of the wild grass as it is so photo-like. If true, I wonder if Durer killed the wildlife staged the scene, then used his camera obscura to trace an image? Audubon did kill his birds, place wires in them to form poses, then draw in ink and pastels and add backgrounds of their habitats. All art which has this life-like look could be done with the aid of optics.
