It evolved into 2 different types. The basilosaurus and a smaller type ????. The basilosur went extinct and the smaller whale went to become the ancestor to every whale and dolphin known to man.

Sharks are for all intents and purposes incredibly stupid animals compared to Orcas. Shark's are just big, dumb eating machines, which is why they will eat almost anything, including tires, anchors, and other such things as have been found in their stomachs when killed. There is a reason Sea World's Shamu is an Orca and not a Shark. Orca's, like Dolphin's, are incredibly intelligent, and use their brains to plan attacks. Shark's don't stand a chance against them, they are the wolves of the sea.

there are some types of killer whales that don't hunt sea mammals that fight back, like there was a recorded case of sea lions biting an orcas tails and driving it off.
