Awesome band. Great album called Gather the faithful

Lyrics:

Call me when the smoke from the bridges burning
Gets in your eyes and you need someone
To take the blame
Once more, like you've done before

So when you need a scapegoat
Just place the blame on me
I never asked to be anyone's hero
I never asked to carry the torch

I'm here for you to crucify
Waiting for your lies to stain me once more
So let me take that cross from you
I'll bear it like I always do

Out of the night and into the light
Where I swear my allegiance
I'll stand by your side and
I will ease your sorrow and grief

Your burden I bear, your pain I will share
To you I will surrender
But in the end I know I'll have the last laugh

I'll smile at the dawn of solace
And laugh on the reckoning day

Once more the fools will return to parade you
And love you until they'll hate you
For what you've become
And you'll call me

But I am overburdened
And I can take no more
I am more tired than ever before
And all that I want is to settle the score

Deep in the night I'll hide from the light
Where I swore my allegiance
Won't stand by your side
And I won't ease your sorrow or pain

No burden to bear, I've suffered my share
Now darkness feels so tender
And in the end I know I'll have the last laugh

I'll smile at the dawn of solace
And laugh on the reckoning day
And dream, if only for a moment
For we are of a dying kind

You used to break me, rape me, hate me
'Til there was nothing left worth saving
My heart is cold and growing colder
Now be a man, just wake me when it's over

Deep in the night I'll hide from the light
Where I swore my allegiance
Won't stand by your side
And I won't ease your sorrow or pain

No burden to bear, I've suffered my share
Now darkness feels so tender
And in the end I know I'll have the last laugh

I'll smile at the dawn of solace
And laugh on the reckoning day
And dream, if only for a moment
For we are of a dying kind

  • Timo kotipelto kind of ruined this for me.... he's a REALLY great guy.... but eh.... not my favorite singer.

  • @nocturneofsilence true... He always uses the same singing style. Kinda yells... I think he is okay but not great

  • @ANTTU24 I am a big kotipelto fan, and I admit his yelling type singing as u said is used to much and can get old...but in softer songs his voice is better

  • @SamUra101 I like Timo, but what all I've heard of him is sang in the same style. Softer songs also. In Cain's Offering and in Stratovarius. Into the blue, elegantly broken, stratovarius ballads... well in elegantly broken it's little bit better but not enough. Tony can sing so strong and really softly also. Timo's volumechanges and strongness changing is always really minimum. Argh I can't put it to words. Timo is okay as I've said. His voice just doesn't supply the feeling as great as Tony K.

  • @ANTTU24 "but all I've heard..." * Nice english Anttu...

  • i like cains offering, but i see many comments about people forgetting about sonata over jani, he was great but wasnt the band, so if you liked sonata over him, what if he leaves cains offering all of a sudden D:

  • @SumTanksUnite He doesn't leave... Cain's is a project band. All other guys have their bands and this is just a sideproject. And this is Jani's band. He kinda owns this. He made all lyrics and songs

  • Beautiful Song.... !!!!

  • 3 poeple haven't seen the dawn.

  • @12345smith67890 actually sonata doesnt plays wolf and raven live anymore and the solo in 8th commandment sounds less technical

elias is a competent guitar player but he has big shoes to fill in, and the lack of guitar solos in 80% of the days of grays doesnt tell me anything good about him

  • this album is the real succesor of reckoning night

  • Jani and Tony will always be better than everyone else. They are the best!

  • @loboDX182 Me too man. Guitar became an obsession after I heard Jani in Sonata for the first time. 8-12 hours a day for quite a while afterwards, that kind of inspiration is hard to come across.

  • good song wi wish there could be more songs like this one
