Not a telescope but the software for your computer. They download blocks of signals then your computer analyzes the signal for anything unusual, then sends the data back to SETI.

SETI@home hasn't been active for years. It was replaced by Boinc and along went the community. There is no feeling of reward, belonging or chance anymore. The campus isn't investing anything into the project anymore and world-wide user community is just numbers for them. That's why I'm not crunching data units anymore

Yes they are probably laughing at me. I don't care. I still want to know why they tell me somethings (out of body research) and not others. I wanted to know about time travel and stuff they told me where they were from... I wanted to do the shrink thing they do with some of their ships they told me they brought the world a ship. I thought this is good like talking to my X husband now if we could just get on the same subject... LOLO

I once did this and yes I got an answer from aliens. I asked them how they found me they said I was on Seti. Most of the time they speak in pictures in their heads and emotions feelings.  So then after they show you a lot of pictures they think you want to know... then they (alien Joke) give you "space" to put pictures in your head and tell them what you think they want to know. So now all you both know is what each thinks the other wants. Cool LOLO The little ones laugh a lot cool sound

Look, SETI@home only needs an internet connection to download jobs and to upload the results. It stays offline while computing data.

Why be so sceptical about everything? Think about it-what could possibly be SO IMPORTANT on your computer that the CIA/FBI (or whatever) may want?-NOTHING!

If I remember correctly, SETI was a part of NASA, but had it's funding cut after congress found the program to be a waste of money. Funding was cut, and SETI became a private endeavor funded mainly by a Microsoft chair holder "Paul Allen". The "Allen" telescope array in northern cali (Hat creek) was named after Paul Allen for his 11.5 Million dollar donation. My sources include Wikipedia and what I've picked up from watching Video's on SETI here on youtube. Keep an open mind.

i totally agree Ew0kgmod,NASA is just a cover to divert money to other unworldly projects,as for spying @ home....a total waste of your time,if you want to hear a signal from space set your satellite dish @90degrees and use your imagination.spying@home is run by left brain boxed thinkers with cheap ties and rude haircuts.
