As the prime minister plans to visit central province this Saturday, members of parliament from the larger Muranga district, are preparing to hand him a petition seeking a waiver of about 2 billion shillings owed to K.P.C.U by coffee farmers in the area. The leaders say, the district was short changed during the 2004 national debt waiver, and the debt, which the farmers continue to pay to date, is crushing coffee farming in the district.
Good points waheshimiwa Raila should know that people of Muranga are expecting him to come and address the real development issues and not bore them with politics. He should leave his vitendawilis and his wars with Ruto in Nairobi.

this is good, we do not want Raila taking his vitendawili speeches of Kibera to Muranga, we want him to go there and address the problems and issues affecting people. These leaders are just out laying to him what he should come with. Sio kila wakati siasa duni, we want him to take development.

Now is when Raila is important. Now is when he is requested to waive the debt, yet all the time he is being lambasted by opponents! Such irony

The farmers MUST repay the loan. The only thing the Minister can do is to extend the grace period. This should be a lesson to farmers to calculate risk in their investments and stop turning investment loans into consumption at the local Muranga bars.
