One prominent Argentinian writer described the Falklands conflict as "two bald men fighting over a comb".
But the war was anything but pointless to the men who fought in it and Al Jazeera met Argentinian veterans for whom the "Malvinas" as they are known, are still an obsession.

  • Let's end colonialism! How shall we start? I know! The Argentinians can fuck off back to Europe, where most of them come from, and give back the land to the Amerindians!

  • @Fatman5ish Argentine snipers were shooting down at their own men trying to surrender to 42 Commando from fire positions higher up in the rocks during the attack on Mount Harriet. Something I'll certainly never forget.

  • I find it amusing that Argentina can continue to support their own claims despite the fact the vast majority of Falklanders wish to remain British. Is it not their democratically mandated right to decide who they are ruled by?

  • @PaulAlmarovar ...Which took place at the beginning of the 19th Century. How is this relevant?

  • That's bullshit! The argintinion officers forced there men at gun point to stand and fight!! An at the end of the war many were wanted for crimes against humanity

  • Read the following article on Wikipedia: 'British Invasions of the Rio de la Plata'
