@TotalDistinction I don't mean to be racist, but black people who come from slaves were bred, the strongest pair of men and women, tragically led to a more athletic afro american people. Speed is all in the genes, if you were to breed white people in the same manner for 100's of years, you would then see them able to compete in the sprints. Eg. Ivet Lalova from Bulgaria, her parents were mediocre sprinters, Ivet blazes a 10.77 faster than her fathers time! It can happen in one generation.
Its true alot of college guys don't do very well in Olympic trials and the only reason I can really think of besides more pressure is that the collegiate athletes train to peak at their conference championships while the pros train to peak at those trails then again in the Olympics. It is probably to hard to switch into the pro schedule right after the college season.
Like I said earlier in my comments, it's cultural.
It's the same thing with boxing; most boxers are hispanic or black, most MMA fighters are white. It's not strength, it's black and white culture that draws individuals to certain sports.
@BenjaminPipic I'm not God so I don't know, but then why do you generally (if not every time) see blacks and not whites in sprinting events. I think sprinting is a strength for blacks and not necessarily for whites. How many blacks do you see do swimming? That is mostly whites because that is their strength.
What's the difference between Jamaican blacks and American blacks? There isn't any so this "study" that "Jamaicans have longer blah blah" is nonsense. The only difference is the boat that they came off of.
@BenjaminPipic actually it is proven that most jamaicans generally have longer achilles heels and the fast twitch muscle thing is true whether u wanna believe it or not
