This video demonstrates the usage of the polyScatter script.

As there are already quite some scripts available to help with distributing objects across a surface, this script focuses on placing the objects without any unnecessary cluttering or resulting in unwanted holes. This is very helpful to spread objects evenly across a surface but still with enough randomization to prevent visual patterns.

  • I know that it's tending to be slow when having too many verts to work on but I mentioned that in the parameter description. Up to 1000 verts are fine but larger meshes should get split into different parts for better performance. haven't found a solution to the memory problem. if you have an idea just let me know

  • nice tool, but it takes too much memory when working with a hugh amount of objects (6000 vertices). After the "clean up", the memory will not be released again. Therefore I have to start Maya a several times
