i am a USMC veteran
When I was in quite recently there were many inside the organization talking about exactly this kind of thing
for the most part, we are not your enemy. Nobody signs up to victimize their own people.
we all need to reach out and educate before firing up the hate engines toward our servicemen
Martial Law is not here yet

I KNOW IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

@PocketChangeism well, one of the reasons switzerland has the 'lowest crime rate' , or at least one of the lowest in europe, is because it's a SOCIALIST society, like most other western european countries.
when people have their BASIC needs met, they're less likely to commit crimes to meet them.
all veteran's of the military (all able bodied men are conscripted in the army, then part of the national guard) are able to take full auto weapons home, but crime rate is low anyway.

@donelson4075 1st, wasn't it mostly police that were confiscating weapons, not really the guard. every guardsman/soldier said that if they knew they were told to confiscate weapons, they wouldn't.
there seems to be cases of weapons confiscation and it seems the police didn't issue receipts. THAT'S jacked up. but the media (as well as social media) did talk about it.

@OakIslandBandit captain in the army. i know that the public information officer (as opposed to someone who works in the public information OFFICE) is just that...an officer.
i simply looked online to see what the job description for PIO was for the army and marines. LOL
this guy is the marine equivalent to a staff sergeant (whatever the marines call an e-6).
@Mike32587 You are probably to young to remember the Rodney King riots but the South Central L.A. Korean shop owners that the looters were targeting had to shoot hundreds of warning shots from their AR-15s just to keep their shops from being burned to the ground. This is because the police would not or could not come to their aid.So in my opinion the 2nd amendment is just as important today as it was in 1776.
