3 Scriabin Preludes Op.11 No.21 in B flat major(Composed in Moscow in 1895) Andante, Op.11 No.4 in E minor Lento(Composed in Moscow, Lefortovo, 1888) and Op.31 #4 in C major: Lento

The prelude Op.11 No.4 was based on an unfinished ballade. The following is from Faubion Bowers Biography on Scriabin.

Scriabin was developing in other, secret ways. His talents overflowed beyond the world of music. We find a fragment of his first poem, dated 1887, a peciled caption for his unfinished ballade:

O country of visions!
How different from this life
Where I have no place
But there, I hear voices,
A world of beatific souls
I see...

One phrase of this music is found in the prelude Op.11 No.4, and it sounds the thoughts these words imply. He is lost in life. He sees visions, and suffers and longs to escape. These feelings will steadily increase.

  • MagicSkryabin, The San Francisco Bay Area is filled with so many amazing musicians. I am blessed to live in the Bay Area. Art is everywhere. Notice the Scriabin Peter's edition on my piano? It is autographed by Scriabin's Great Grandson, also his Grand Father was the great pianist Vladimir Sofroninsky. I put it in the video and on my piano for inspiration. Long live Scriabin!!!
