You haven't sacrificed a thing and make several times the US average with your "earned retirement and health benefits" ... Which I hate to tell you no one else gets because they aren't putting a gun to taxpayer's heads and demanding their money.
I am a federal retiree. Don’t single us out by making more cuts to the retirement and health benefits we earned through years of serving the public. Federal workers and retirees have already sacrificed pay and benefits.
@FiscalConservative1 In any case an amendment I would pass is that employment, pay and benefits of FEDERAL EMPLOYEES cannot be affected by the amendment and it must never be used to shrink the Government, it can be used to FREEZE the Government but not shrink it. As it is now it is a weapon of economic terror. You want greater malfeasance and waste? Attack Federal employees. You want less of it? Attack contractors. With 1.6 million more Federal employees and 5 million fewer contractors...
@FiscalConservative1 Fine, but my main problem with this vision of smaller Government and the 1920s is this: We did not have any delusions of grandeur then. Our military was singularly unimpressive, but that did not matter it was our economy that made us powerful. Cut cap and balance and what the Republicans propose gives the Federal Govt fewer resources to look after Americans and to continue spending on DoD which defends Seoul and Riyadh not Washington or Chicago.
@Meade556 Bring the Cut, Cap and Balance Act up for debate and put whatever Amendments in it that you want and vote on it and kick it back to the House. Stop hurrying up and failing bills before people know what's in them.
@FiscalConservative1 Fine you can have it, as long as you agree to more IRS enforcers and the extra 860 billion in annual revenue that Senator Sanders proposed, most of it coming from the top 2% and large corporations that don't pay any taxes whatsoever and yes he covered the possibility of them moving profits overseas and the ideas punish them if they do it. Altogether that would bring in an extra 1.2 trillion in Federal revenue, then you can your CCB
Three things have brought about this crisis. He addresses one, which is excessive and costly big government. The second is foreign entanglements which are allowing looting of this country. The third is a private (for profit) central bank.
