This is my own version of Mark Knopfler's Local Hero, arranged during my long journey in England. I recorded it with my camera, so audio is not high quality. In this video I used my Acoustic Ibanez AEL40S, amplified by Marshall JCM900 with a little bit of reverb.

  • Who's signature is on your guitar?

  • @haywoodify Tommy Emmanuel!

  • @elbiondoschitaron is that a fl3ac cole clark? Nice job on the knopfler song also. Many kudos.

  • @CASLUVR No! It's an Ibanez AEL!

  • I love this arrangement, The use of harmonics balances the sometimes cutting highs and overall compliments the melodic progression of the piece.

My only criticism is your playing technique is so rigid, almost robotic, the complete opposite to Mark Knopfler; and that is why it frustrates me so much listening to it.

I respect your musical ability, I seriously love your arrangement, But it is just frustrating. Music is about feel, man, you have to let the emotion loose!

    Anyway, My 2c. :)

I completely agree with you :) I'm not happy about my feeling while I'm playing a song. I'm always under stress ... Anyway, thanks for your 2c!

  • This is a beautiful arrangemet. I found the scratching of your fingers on the strings to be distracting.Seems to occur frequently. I love the tone and thank you for a great listen.

  • beautiiful, got tears in my eyes!

  • haha oh man I saw that signature on your guitar and knew before reading it. "tommy emmanuel!" hahaha. cause I have one on my maton too hahaha :)

  • the noises you make when changing one position to another hurt my ears....but good performance..

  • I started watching this vid then saw, "This is my own version of..." etc. and immediately thought, "Oh great, someone is gunna have to give me back the time I have wasted watching this." Then you struck that first harmonic and INSTANTLY dragged me in. I couldn't turn it off.

I have to agree with jbuckley123 with your action being a little robotic, but otherwise VERY WELL DONE !!!

Thank you for sharing your skills and this song with us all.

    Kudos !!!

  • I'd be doing you a terrible injustice if I didn't tell you how incredible this was. It's incredible, seriously incredible.

  • Beautiful. Brightened my afternoon and gave me something to aspire to, so nice one.
