  • @xrayracer1 Yeah, this plane is probably better off that way. It does, however, seem to fly interestingly with all the extra weight of the 4 stroke. Flies like a brick but at the same time it seems to like the added weight. Also sounds great. I'd start off with the 2 stroke and give the 4 stroke a try later on. You never know, you may like it. (also, about the prop, a 3 blade is always an option)

  • @horizonflyer9 Thanks for the info, i might use one of my O.S .46 ax engines instead

  • @xrayracer1 That engine should be plenty powerful; just keep in mind two things, from my own experience:

    1. This airplane's maximum realistic propeller diameter is 12 inches, especially on grass runways. Unless you change out the landing gear or modify to be a tail dragger, don't exceed this diameter. Because of this, a 4 stroke may not give its full potential of power.

    2. The plane has a large chance of being nose heavy; expect to have to counter it.

Otherwise the plane seems to like 4 strokes.

  • Hi, i have one of these coming and i was just wondering, i have an O.S .72 fsa 4 stroke, would i be able to put this engine in it?

  • @thejetdrvr This is Monmouth County Model Airplane Club, or MMAC. Field is in the Monmouth Battlefield park, in Freehold, NJ, and yes it is very tight. Makes the flights all the more interesting :) I've been flying there for 6 years

  • Where is this? Monmouth county. I grew up in Holmdel and flew at Bells Labs (AT&T). That is a tight field!
