George Parker (1870-1936) was one of the most audacious con men in American history. He made his living selling New York's public landmarks to unwary tourists. His favorite object for sale was the Brooklyn Bridge, which he sold twice a week for years. He convinced his marks that they could make a fortune by controlling access to the roadway. More than once police had to roust naive buyers from the bridge as they tried to erect toll barriers.
His exploits have passed into popular culture, giving rise to phrases such as "and if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you", a popular way of expressing a belief that someone is gullible.
Obama seems to be selling bridges to me.

I also think of the movie "The Flim-Flam Man" when I hear this man talk.

no, I live in Illinois, and know Obama can do well and support him. As a matter of fact for the first time in over 20 years (how long I have been able to vote) this is the first time I have donated money to a campaign, or even considered it. Something I never thought I would do.

Voting for the Flimflam man? I don't think so. I am a registered republican. McCain shows me nothing except his lack of judgement. The man is no hero. Since February, I listened to this incoherent idiot. He would not make a good CinC. Proof of it was in 1968 when pilot lost his aircraft to enemy ground fire because he didn't follow procedures. I am not voting for a CinC. I am voting for a person who can lead my country as president. That person ain't John McCain.
