Updating the classic 1960's action series The Fugitive (1963) with the thrills and high-tech style of the 1993 Oscar-winning hit movie, "The Fugitive" returns to television with the riveting tale of Dr. Richard Kimble (Tim Daly), an innocent man accused of murdering his beloved wife. Adrift in a... More sea of strangers in strange locations, Kimble, on the hunt for the one-armed man who actually committed the crime, desperately tries to avoid being captured by Lt. Philip Gerard (Mykelti Williamson), who always seems to be only two steps behind. From week to week, Kimble searches city after city for the elusive killer whose capture would finally allow him to prove his innocence and return to his former life. In constant flight in his quest for justice, Kimble touches many lives, but the encounters are ended as suddenly as they have begun when the fugitive is forced to escape to yet another city.

The show aired for one season, with 22 episodes, and ended on a cliffhanger because CBS did not inform the show's writers that the show was going to be canceled.

There is no DVD release planned in the States. A single DVD was released flagged for Region 2 (i.e.: Europe, Middle East, etc.), containing only the first two episodes.

NEWS FLASH! As of 5/9/11 Movies Unlimited says Warner has Fugitive 2000 "under consideration" for DVD release. No specifics are available at this time, but just the fact it is "under consideration" now is the most hopeful news I've heard about owning my own DVD set!

  • @millermarkc Again, fantastic news! Thanks for sharing good sir/madam.

  • dodgerfreak2:

I emailed Warner Bros. about Fugitive 2000. I was told that on the WBShop.com website they now have a Warner Archive. Through the Warner Archive they are releasing "made-to-order" DVD sets of television shows they are not going to distribute publicly but which can still be ordered from the site by individuals. I was told to sign up for the Warner Archive email newsletter to find out if and when they decide to release Fugitive 2000 on a "made-to-order" basis. Here's hoping they do!

  • @millermarkc Wow if that's true, that's fantastic news. Thanks for passing that along.

  • @jboze3131 When FBI Agent Dennis Gagomiros arrives at Gerard's office, Gerard thinks he is going to help him catch Richard Kimble. Actually, the agent's assignment is to investigate Gerard's obsession with Kimble's guilt. Agent Gagomiros asks Gerard for the Kimble case file and Gerard gives it to him. He reads the case file and sees how Gerard is obstructing Kimble's right to establish his innocence. To stop Gerard's injustice Gagomiros shoots him in his police car before he can get to Kimble.

  • @millermarkc I remember the finale the same way Woodrow commented...it implied Gerard was shot.

Maybe I can find the video- I have some of them on VHS somewhere I believe.

The information about a Fugitive 2000 DVD set is not in any published story yet. I sent an email to "Movie Irving" at Movies Unlimited. (The comment software won't let me type his abbreviated name without giving me an error.) He contacted someone at Warner Bros. and replied back to me that Fugitive 2000 is "under consideration."

  • @millermarkc

Could you provide a link to that story?

  • All Fugitive 2000 Tim Daly Fans:

Go to the Warner Brothers Shop website. Choose the heading Warner Archive. Send them an email suggesting they make The Fugitive 2000 television series starring Tim Daly available for sale on DVD through the Warner Archive. Tell all your friends to send them an email, too.

  • Woodrowworley:

There is no cliffhanger. FBI Agent Dennis Gagomiros has become convinced of Kimble's innocence. He stops Gerard from killing Kimble by killing Gerard. As he enters the room, he sees Charnquist (the one-armed-man) first, draws his gun and locks his sight on Charnquist. Kimble turns around and sees Gagomiros kill Charnquist. (If Gagomiros had intended to kill Kimble, he would have had to repoint his gun at Kimble.) Gagomiros's testimony will get Kimble exonerated at his retrial.
