Great stuff. That's so damn old that it don't say 78 rpm probably, because that's all there was I guess.

Yup, this was still in the days of just 78s. I had another Benny Goodman ready for upload...but it just WON'T upload. Tried a few times. Then reprocessed it back through windows movie maker and it still won't go through, so I'm assuming the actual transfer from the camera is corrupted. I'll may redo it again here in a few. And I'm trying to find a 12-inch Goodman 78 that I will post soon. May be mixed in with the LPs. Safer that way. Not sure where it is yet though.

I love this recording and take great pride in it.

My late grandfather, Alec Fila, is the lead trumpet player.

As a guitarist myself, I have heard stories about my grandfather and Charlie Christian playing billiards together after recording sessions, a pass-time at which they both excelled.

Though Charlie Christian died early, and my grandfather's renowned musical career was cut short by mental illness, this recording represents, to me, an example of them both at the top of their game.

I came to listen to this because Geroge Benson said Wes Montgomery was his inspiration, and when I read an interview with Wes Montgomery,he said Charlie Christian's performance on this song was his inspiration! I see why.

Heard this in 1976 when I was 20. I put my guitar in the attic.
