  • the most underrated album of the nineties, maybe. the way this song combines dub, beatles, and mariachi horns still blows my mind. i wish i hadn't sold my giant steps vinyl for beer money back in 96 or 97 >_<

  • i love finding amazing bands like this for the first time

  • @honeypower Very true. Most people who have actually heard it, LOVE it.

  • Most of the time when people say under-rated they mean under-recognised.

  • I agree with Kaini. One of my fav CDs from the 90s. Never get tired of it.

  • The horns on this sounded glorious when I was tripping. One of my favourite acid albums ever!

  • @UltimateVenom Check out Brave Captain, the Boo's front-man project, not as good as the Boo but since you are like 10 years late after they disbanded you might wanna check their later works

  • @kaini Seconded and thirded. I remember reading a student review way back that described "Giant Steps" as what the White Album-era Beatles would have released had they been around in the early 90s. In fact, I just stopped in to this vid to make a point to my girlfriend about how underrated they are. If only they could go back and NOT release "Wake Up Boo" as a single, maybe things would have been very different.

  • @sizone - That's why listening to alternative radio stations such as university radio etc is so awesome, you will hear songs like their earlier ones there!

This track was very out of the ordinary when 95 bFM (University station, Auckland, NZ) played it in 1993. I was also lucky to hear Trent Reznor debut his NIN album 'Pretty Hate Machine' through bFM as well, fantastic!

  • Gosh! I didn't hear this awesome song since 15 years! Still love it!

  • An excellent song, by far their best. Bought 3 of their albums at the time but with the exception of the solid & inventive Giant Steps I'm not that interested in them now. Saw them supporting Dinosaur Jr on the Green Mind tour. Dinosaur Jr were amazing, but Radleys hadn't developed their sound at the time & were extremely loud but very derivative My Bloody Valentine style shoegazers with one dimensional wall-of-sound guitar & barely audible vocals. They did improve rapidly.

  • @kaini NME and Select named it album of the year at the time. Not exactly underrated?
