This was filmed in the village where I grew up. We had a day off school so we could watch. Its funny seeing the car get pushed into a quarry that isn't there!!

Wow, never had anyone comment who actually saw these episodes being filmed. Just out of interest what year was this filmed?

It was just before I left junior school so about 1983. The headmistress got told off for talking during filming.

@TheNcw2501 It's a small village call Great Gaddesden in Herts. My parents still live there. The pub has closed down now and there never was a post office.

@diebadgerdie at least they had the old brown car or the red van to drive out of the village. What village was it filmed in? It looks very attractive back then.

This is rather good, actually, in spite of, as a previous commenter noted, it being rather derivative. I think the direction and editing help a lot.

Its Great Gaddesden in Hertfordshire. It still looks pretty much the same apart from the pub now being a house and the phone box being more modern.
