Metal Gear Solid - Beating Mantis With The First Controller Port

I couldn't find any videos of this, so I decided to make one. Well, I found one, but it was on hyperspeed and the quality wasn't the best.

I'm not sure exactly how it works, but I seem to hit him about every 6th or so time when I fire at him all the time. I used the Bandana to make sure the whole battle would fit into one video. Obviously, it takes a lot longer without it. And yeah, it's on Easy.

Guess how many bullets I fired in this battle. Whoever gets the closest wins 10 bananas and an onion.

i think metal gear solid 1 is the only game to ever exist is a game where you need to put your controller in port 2 as a strategy..

i played this when i was a kid and i was scared of this guy, so hard to kill. i remember i killed him with first controller you have to destroy the statue head on the left with a nakita or thats what i vaguley remember can somone confrim this?

I always used to beat him with my bare fists without changing the controller port...I don't know how...but I just did...

@victorso123 Yeah, but you have to die first, you have to contact the Colonel by codec until he tells you how to defeat mantis. Then, after he tells you to use the second controller port, die without changing controller ports. Then the Colonel will tell the other method to defeating him. Which is shooting the two statues that are on the upper right and left corners of the screen. They can be shot with any weapon, not just the Nikita.

i defeated him with the controller 1 with granades bullets and no bandana when i was 8 years old (take me days i guess dont remember very well) only because in that time i don understand english very well xD
