SIPs (Structural Insulated Panel)

Sheathing mystifies me, because I think of it like a vapor seal, so the problem I have with it is that the minute you hammer into it or punch it with staples you break the seal and have an air leak. I can't see how it works other than creating another layer which works only for insulation but not as an actual seal. I have never seen how sheathing was applied around the window area, or around corners, which I haven't tried yet, nor tried flashing either. Thanks! I have less doubts about it now.

I like how you cut out the window in your sheathing; two pieces, nice and easy. Your videos have boosted my confidence in building my own tiny house - what was a pipe dream is now a reality for me. I cannot begin to thank you enough.
Why no use of rubber /aluminum window flashing per best building practice? Tyvek makes a very poor window flashing. Or is that in a later video?
Also taping of all vapor barrier overlaps.
Are you in Eastern or Western Wa.?
