『波止場だよ、お父つぁん（１９５6、Hatoba-Dayo, Otottuan. 』

美空ひばりの「波止場だよお父っつあん」は、男女の別れではなく、昔船乗りだった父親の手を引いて、その娘が懐かしい港を案内するというストーリー。
父親は盲目だが、その汐の匂いや汽笛の音で過ぎし日を懐古する。

上にのせた歌詞は３番だが、１番に盲目の俗的な言い方があるため、テレビやラジオではあまり放送されない。

その歌詞には、「波止場」はもちろん、「古い錨」、「マドロス」、「岬」、「船」、「汽笛」、「港」、「マスト」、「縞のジャケツ」と港をしのばせることばがふんだん。
「ジャケツ」とはジャケットつまり上着のことで、同じく美空ひばりの「ひばりのマドロスさん」（昭和２９年）にも、
♪縞のジャケツのマドロスさんは　
と出てくる。

「お父っつあん」というのは江戸言葉で、父親の「ちち」が訛った「とと」に敬称の「お」と「さま」がついた「おととさま」がさらにくだけたもの。江戸だけでなく関西でもつ­かわれていたという説もある。

その江戸言葉「おとっつあん」は昭和３０年代でもまだ生きていた。とりわけ下町ではしばしば耳にした。
もっとも、これはある程度成長した子供が父親に対して言う言葉で、年端のいかない子供は「ちゃん」と言った。

父親の「お父っつあん」に対して母親の江戸言葉は「おっ母（か）さん」となる。東京では明治末期まではこの言葉が普通だった。

島倉千代子に「東京だよおっ母さん」（昭和３２年）があり、やはり昭和３０年代にその言葉が"生存"していたことを裏付けている。

It yearns for the passing day because of the smell of the tide and the sound of the whistle though father is blind.

It is not broadcast so much in the television and the radio because there is a common blind expression in the first though lyrics put up are the third.

In the lyrics, the word to endure "Old anchor", "Sailor", "Cape", "Ship", "Whistle", "Port", "Mast", "Stripes jacket", and the port to say nothing of "Wharf" is abundant.
"Jacket" is a jacket ,in a word, the jacket, and beauty empty lark's "Lark's sailor" (1954) is sailor [sanha] of the jacket of ♪ stripes and, similarly, [da].

Father..Edo..word..father..speak with a local accent..honorific title..Mr...attach..further..break..one.There is a theory of having been used in not only Edo but also Kansai, too.

The Edo word "[Otottsuan]" was still alive even in the 1955's. It often heard especially downtown.
The child where [nenbata] did not go to father to some degree the grown-up child in the said word ..".. said," this however.

Father..father..mother..Edo..word..bite..)..become.This word was usual in Tokyo until end of the Meiji era.

It is proven that Chiyoko Shimakura has "Tokyo [dayoo] mother" (1957), and the word did "Living" still in the 1955's.
