If adultery was a crime that was followed by death. People would think rationally before deciding to get married. Meaning people would be forced to truly get to know one another first. There would be more stability and trust in relationships. Even jealousy would even decrease in most common relationships. It's not a sign of if you cheat you die, but more of think things through before you take such actions. Being they now know the consequence if lead astray. They should test it on a small city.

When someone is lunging at you. No one thinks of exact precision of their attack. You are thinking kill blow. Chest, neck, head, or back. That's just instinct in itself. There is not 1 scenario where someone is wielding a knife and says, "Hey, I think I can take him down by striking his knee. That would take precision accuracy on a narrow target; which he would fend off and knee you in the face. Knocking you over and making it hard to defend yourself. Most likely even disarm you.

when you are of nobility. It's very common to marry without knowing your spouse before hand. It's like blind dating but with marriage. You might get a winner or might not luck out so well. Yet they are groomed to the culture, so its very much so second nature to them. Till this day it still continues. If you are around anyone for a long period of time. Regardless of your differences. There is a very big chance you would grow fond of the person you are with. Unless they are completely horrid.

It's completely fine to have different opinions, but I don't think death penalty on adultery (or any other crime) is acceptable, I do however consider divorce quite unnecessary. People these days get married too hastily & young, and then they divorce when they're older. I'm not even Christian, but I find it devours the sacrament of marriage and what it stands for. Other thing it was in the 1700s, you'd often get married to a stranger in some faraway country and have no saying of it.

Better give me those dimes then. In that scenario, I'd pick up that knife, naturally. But as he comes lunging at me I'd strike at his knee or collarbone, depending on distance, speed and positions. Because I'm smart enough to know what accusations, investigations and possibly convictions that would lie before me if I killed him unnecessarily. As for his victims, wouldn't rotting away slowly in prison be a greater revenge than having him be put down relatively quickly?

If you were locked in a room with a serial killer or rapist. Then left with a knife on a table. I would bet every single dime in my pocket you would pick it up. Then if he lunged at you. You would strike to kill. Not demobilize him, but kill him so that he is no longer a threat to you. On another note. I guarantee if the Death Penalty continued to stand on Adultery. The Divorce Rate would not have passed 70% going onto 80% if not more now; which 70% is the cause of cheating spouses. Statistics.

In this day and age. There are quite a few number of people who deserve to die. Picture if your child, friend, parents, etc. was kidnapped and then butchered to death. Maybe a mass rapist who spreads STDs and impregnates all of his victims. Sorry I'm not into the whole I forgive you shtick. Some people know what they are doing is wrong, and deserve everything that's coming to them. It's easy to declare forgiveness or say imprisonment. Till you are the victim and had to go through the same trials
