Lucy Walking

This is a video of my daughter Lucianna showing off her walking skills at the airport, while we waited for the boarding to start on my flight.

I got to Don Carlos about one week after she took her first steps. When I arrived, Lucy could walk a couple of feet at a time, but that was about it. She needed to use chairs, or a hand from Mommy or Daddy to help her keep her balance. My daughter was very determined to conquer this new challenge, and it didn't take long at all for her to walk like she had been doing it for months.

This video was shot 2 weeks after I arrived, or the third week since Lucy took her first unsteady steps. She still falls a lot, but never hesitates to get right back up. In less than a month, Lucy is doing great. She loves to walk whenever the situation allows it. My wife Emily has her hands full now, keeping Lucy from running too far, or getting into something she finds on the ground.

The time I get to spend with my wife and daughter is always too short, but these two weeks were the most important thing I have done since our daughter was born. Lucy would not be as far along without her awesome mother encouraging her every step of the way.

I am so thankful to have such a wonderful wife as Emily, and such a happy, healthy baby as Lucianna. God willing, these will be the beginning steps of a long, joyous life for our daughter.
