This was our Filipino-Cambodian wedding in San Diego, June 2007. The bride is filipino & Groom is Cambodian/khmer so we had a mixed wedding. The bride changed into the khmer dress for the table greeting on groom's side. yeah, we really didn't practice the whole lifting thing =X so OUR BAD! LOL

  • @mhorn06x you change about 8 times depending. the ACTUAL Cambodian wedding lasts 7 days, but since in America we don't have the time or money to do a 7 day wedding we shorten it to a minimum to 2 to 1 day.

  • @mhorn06x A Cambodian wedding is really tiring. You wake up from 4 in the morning and sleep at like 1 in the morning. There's different sections to a Cambodian Wedding from Prayers to The Cleansing of the new couple, to Knot tie to the Grooms March to the Fruit Feeding (Not in Order of Ceremony) Then you go take pictures, then after that You wait by the door to greet the guest at the reception then you go around the tables to gather money and give gifts to guest then cake cutting then dancing.

  • interesting xD

  • aww, this looks so happy! my bf is cambodian & i'm viet. i didn't know the bride had to get money that way tho! i'm going to be very tired by the end of the day when me&my bf get married :p

  • @frenlymae (this is the bride again) just make sure there's communication and let both families know what to expect is going to happen during the wedding, so that they won't feel in the dark.

  • @frenlymae hi, this is the bride - I think both families thought the incorporation of both cultures was very exciting and interesting. We did not do the khmer ceremony in the morning, just a church wedding. But I added the khmer part in by playing khmer songs and changing and doing the table greeting. Just know- you will not please everyone! Just do your best or whatever makes you happy. Rememer, it's YOUR wedding! :)

  • this looks very exciting! I can't wait for my wedding. However, I have a question cause I notice that the bride is filipino and the groom is cambodian, just like me and my fiance. We're planning to get married next year and I really want to do both tradition wedding but I'm not sure how because Khmer ceremonies alone will take the whole day and its going to be very tiring. I was wondering how did you do your wedding and how did your family think of ur husbands tradition?

  • After seeing this video and knowing that the wedding was filipino-cambodian wedding made me very excited because me and my fiance are exactly the same. I'm filipina and his cambodian. We're planning to have our wedding next year and I really want to get some feedback on how the brides parents thought of the khmer traditional wedding, because I can't decide of how I want mine. it does look fun though and i do want it but at the same time i don't want my family to feel left out or something...

  • thats how kmai ppl party! whoohoo congrats!

  • congratulations Ritax! beautiful wedding.
