I'm so thrilled about working with Lea (albrenza) on this duet. I've been a long time admirer of her channel. This is a truly international collab. Lea is in the Philippines while I'm (musicmonsterw) on the West Coast of Canada.
The song "Somewhere Out There" was written by James Horner, Barry Mann, and Cynthia Weill. It originally appeared in the 1986 animated film - An American Tail. It was performed by actors Phillip Glassner and Betsy Cathcart in the roles of Fievel and Tanya Mousekewitz.
Stephen Spielberg, the film's producer, felt that the song had Top 40 potential and recruited top recording artists Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram to record a pop version of the song for the film's closing credits.
I'm a sucker for good animated films and I love movie theme songs, especially duets. I've been wanting to do a cover of this for a long time and I'm so glad that Lea agreed to do this with me! While I was at it, I couldn't resist making a "story" video to go along with our duet.

Thanks to Albrenza for sharing this video with me. Definitely the perfect song for two singers to collaborate with from across the world.
