The floats provide greater clearance for the prop. They are tough and track really well on snow and ICE. The plane does not nose over. The plane will fly differently as it requires greater air speed for take off. Turning is differently both in the air and on the ground. On the ground, turning is achieved by the air/wind hitting the rudder, as opposed to using the steering rear wheel. In the air, turning at slow speeds is a little shaky. The plane flies differently, but it is a lot of fun.
@jayjflynn , the Decathlon is from ParkFlyers. I am not sure they still sell it. The owner (my friend Simon) upgraded the stock motor, which was so underpowered it barely kept his plane in the air at all. It would NOT have enough power to fly it with those floats on. He upgraded the motor and motor mount using my ParkZone Corsair's stock motor mount and motor. It flies nicely.

What about the Decathlon? Who is that one made by?

@jayjflynn , the white plane is the famous HobbyZone Super Cub. When stock, it's an easy-to-fly 3 CH plane. Mine has been upgraded with brushless and ailerons. Watch this video to see it: watch?v=i_g0c9kWXYQ
