This is Tracy, our asthma cat, coughing. This is not a hairball. This is a very, very mild coughing spell for her. This is wet asthma coughing. This video was taken to show the vet during her diagnosis period.

Now if she were to cough, which she hasn't since starting inhaled asthma med Flovent, she would get a puff of albuterol to open her airways and stop the coughing and wheezing.

  • Poor Tracy!

She's a beautiful kitty, but I feel sorry for her.

  • @CaitlinBrooksMusic Thanks Caitlin. Don't feel sorry for her. She is totally ok . :) I take very very good care of her and she has the meds she needs to stay healthy forever. :)

  • Poor cat :-(

  • @tributetoerasmus It is very sad to watch... But she is doing fine these days with her meds. :) She hasn't had an attck in years. Knock on wood!

  • Our 10-year old cat just started doing this... funny thing is, our five-year-old has asthma, too... maybe she has asthma?

  • @bagtownguy It's possible.

  • This is one of the videos I watched which helped me understand that my cat had developed asthma. At first, I thought she was trying to vomit (my cat doesn't cough up hair balls). The vet didn't know because he wasn't witnessing it. Thank you very much for posting. I posted my own "how to give a cat a pill" video recently since she now takes pills to relieve her asthma. I wish the best for you and your beautiful cat!

  • Aw what a beautiful cat!!

Hope she is doing much better now!!

  • Thank you for posting this! My cat has been doing the same thing, but whenever we bring her to the vet, she's fine. Now I know what to tell the doctor!!

  • fuckin cat abuser

  • I wanted to let everyone know I switched Bella to a grain free cat food called "Blue Wilderness" and she's hasn't had near the outbreaks she used to. Might be worth a try with you cat that has asthma too!

  • aw little chubby cute cat :)

  • @pink89berry I hope your kitty is doing better now.

  • @Buffheart No, I haven't. Tracy's asthma has been controlled for years now with Flovent so I don't really seek out groups anymore. I'm sure they are great though!

  • @LifesHardLessons Absoluty not! It's asthma.
