to hamletunedone: I do not completely agree. With all of the absorbing of assets and resources, with all of the quantities of money that are being funneled to the banking cartels...the absolutely wrong people will have sway with it over most of the people relying on it, hence US governments need to force people to look at it's government as a necessity.

But if Bin Laden is guilty, I still don't see how invading another country because a criminal lives there is justified.

Ofcourse, this depends on whether you see terrorism as an "act of war" or a crime. I believe it's the latter, so invading another country because it houses a criminal (perpetrator of a crime) is still not justified.

Amen Fox, I think the west has the technology to 'fix' the opium problem. Here is my military strategy. An aerial incendiary bombardment of all opium crops. If it ain't edible we bomb it. The opium rich smoke will pacify the locals, war over. The big losers though would be the American Stock Market which is what this war is really about (ensuring rich corporate financiers maintain their strangle hold over shit heels like us).

there's also a plan for a oil pipeline through afghanistan as the the iran option is not viable. this pipeline could be the real reason for US precense... apparently 2 major bases are located along the proposed pipe route
