Tonight (November 21, 2008), Kevin Garnett will play against the Timberwolves at the Target Center for the first time in his career. He returns to Minnesota as a champion, as a defensive player of the year, and as a celebrated and cherished sports figure in Minnesota. An icon.
To commemorate the occasion, here is a look back on June 28th, 1995, the day Kevin Garnett became a Minnesota Timberwolf.
The Minnesota Timberwolves made Kevin Garnett their first round draft choice -- 5th pick overall -- in the 1995 NBA Draft at the SkyDome in Toronto.
Garnett became the first player in 20 years to jump from high school straight to the NBA. He would face a blitz of criticisms and doubters, people predicting that he would fail miserably.
How wrong they were.
Look at the other peeps up there too man! Jerry and SHEEED
