How to color resin with eyeshadow, makeup, pigment, fabric dye, and acrylic paint! Yes you can use ANY type of pigment that colors paper to color resin too! Markers, paint, food coloring, chalk pastels, dye, make up, eyeshadows, micca, and pigment powder.

** Be cautious when using acrylic paint. If you mix too much, then your resin will never dry causing it to be sticky and bend.***

  • hi. i was wondering if you've tried food coloring. are there any bad sides on using food coloring? THANKS :)

  • @CitrusCrafty i have never tried it but i really want to. But I've seen others on youtube do it and it works out good. ✿ take care

  • Excellent informative video. Can you tell me how your castings colored with non traditional methods are holding up? Any sign of deterioration, cracking etc?

What kind of resin are you using? Thanks

  • @MicrocastMolds I basically use eyeshadows for all my colored resin and they are perfectly fine. :) The acrylic paint one however took months to dry and then when it finally dried it shattered. I really dont use paint for resin since i think its better to buy casting pigment made by the resin companies.

  • @ivanaokay

Thank you. Oh .. and your brand of resin?

  • @MicrocastMolds I have used both CastingCraft and Envirotech.

  • awesome, great tip!

  • Cool thanks.. I just ordered some and should get it in a month :) great video.. thanks again

  • @gibsonerina yes, not super super shiny but still its a WAY BETTER shine than mold putty. with amazing mold putty the pieces are very dull.

  • Does the oyumaru make your resin pieces shiny when you pop them out
