  • I understand what Ixc is but could you please explain (with a comment) what the product of inertia is (Ixy). thanks a lot

  • Recall that the parallel axis theorem for the product of inertia of an area states that the product of inertia with respect to an orthogonal set of axes (x-y coordinate system in this case) is equal to the product of inertia with respect to an orthogonal set of axes parallel to the original set and passing through the centroid of the area, plus the product of the area of the x and y coordinates of the centroid of the area.

    In a line, Ixy=Ixyc+A*(xc)*(yc)

    I do have one tiny suggestion to make, although I'm not sure if anybody else is thinking the same, but I was just wondering whether you could talk a bit slower in the videos next time, because I found that I had to rewind a few times to properly catch what you were saying.
