Jeremy Hotz is always unhappy about something even when the audience rewards him with applause breaks and plenty of laughs. I have worked with him and known him for years yet he is consistent with his pain. He really is hilarious but for whatever reason never seems to sink in with him. Hotz has appeared on just about every major network television late night show out there including The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, NBCs Friday Night, the highly acclaimed PBS/CBC series, Newsroom and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Jeremy is also a motion picture actor having appeared in My Favorite Martian, Speed II and one of my favorites, Newsroom: The Movie which is based on the very popular underground Canadian TV show that also starred Jeremy. He starred in the four-part mini-series Married Life on Comedy Central and was nominated for a Gemini Award for the CBCs Cana-DUH. He has a new reality based television show coming out in the fall but don't ask him if he is excited about it. Dana Eagle marks her debut up here in Lake Tahoe and I think she is one of the funniest women currently working the circuit today. She told me that people usually think of comedienne Sarah Silverman but I think Dana is more like a female Mitch Hedberg. Dana is really coming into her own and is quickly gaining prominence on the comedy scene. Already she has appeared on Comedy Centrals Premium Blend in addition to national commercials and getting a host position on the Oxygen Network. Showtime commissioned Dana to write and film her own comic interstitials for their premiere channel ShowNEXT. She was showcased on HBOs US Comedy Arts Festival in her solo show, Stones From Glass Houses followed by the second in the series, Mood Disorders: A Light-Hearted Romp Through Crippling Depression. Keep a keen eye out on this lady she is smart and others will soon catch on to her comedy.
