@T0626N you just have to dim the interior dash lights and it will also turn the nav darker when its night time... in the day it will still remain white... the dimmer is located to the left of the wheel. spin it down one notch. you will feel it click

can u really play DVDs while driving on the ES350???? or do u need to hack in to it to make that work?

How did you set the Navi to have a black background? The Navi in our ES stays white even at night time, it's somewhat distracting.

you know you can do this via the service menu

go to lexus owners club dot com and search hacks.
there is a red cable from the back of the unit that is connected to the e brake. cut it and ground it, job done!
this does not ulock nav whilst driving or bluetooth, just dvd.
nav and bluetooth is another pair of wires but might aswel do it whilst your there!

most likely had to cut some wires to the speed indicator to get the system to bypass the safety mechanism...
