@Sarasince1992 It's based on a book of the same name, but the book is fictional. However, Jane's character is written based on interviews with slaves that the author had read, and the author made quite an effort to make the story historically accurate. This may not be a true story, but at least it's accurate and realistic. One could say it's based on several different true stories.
