  • Of Note: "First Peoples of North America"

A free mobile app - (Currently available only for iPhone & iPad).

-A Directory of over 800 Indian Nations in the U.S. and Canada

    -Historical and legal texts

  • INFO: The question of what these dances mean and how to get more info, etc. comes up regularly, If you live in the USA, find out where your nearest Tribal Headquarters is and contact them. If you live outside the USA, contact an appropriate NGO at the UN. In general, Native People sing and dance for all the same reasons that people in other cultures sing and dance. Some of the dances here are competition, some are not. The dress is a bit 'extra fancy,' called: regalia, common for special events.

  • @citizenbfk Or contact Canadian First Nations tribes :) They do the same thing (well kinna).

  • @lusoguyJesuspower - good info, thanks for adding it.

  • @faith9421 So go, you'll have great time. Pow Wow's are celebrations of life and culture. The drums will have your feet tapping in no time. We Onkwehonwe, (Oon-gwe-hoon-we), or Original people are friendly and welcoming sorts. We don't scalp anymore, LOL! Try the fry bread, you'll love it.
