Fantastic, you explained something to me here which i couldn't get into my head, and you made it simple! If you were stood at that junction on the map with a GPS, would that give the same reading?

@007vauxhall yes paul , bear in mind that this is a simple basic tutorial , the full GR including the sheet number would be SH993674 , the GPS will display the sheet number followed by an eight figure grid reference for better accuracy !
