House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI) and Rep. Steven LaTourette (R-OH) held a news conference yesterday to highlight a resolution of inquiry they have authored to give taxpayers a full account of the Obama Administrations communications with AIG regarding their receipt of bailout funds. Reps. McCotter, LaTourette, and their House Republican colleagues believe taxpayers deserve an investigation to determine exactly how the provision paving the way for the executive bonuses got into the bill and why the President didnt know it was in there. Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-MA) has 14 days to act on this resolution of inquiry. Will House Democrats give taxpayers the investigation they deserve?

  • This makes us fighting mad...but, what puts us on the brink, is that Frank, Dodd, and others are not put on a panel. These hypocrites are pushing us to the breaking point. The AIG bonuses are just another spear in the whale. But to see them chided and almost extorted by these Senators is even more fuel for the fire. We aren't having tea parties for the fun of it. Here is the gist of the American people...if Frank and Dodd hold these execs to the fire, then we will in turn hold them as well.

  • Steve LaTourette is from the affluent Eastern Suburbs of Cleveland. Mitt Romney for President 2012. Too bad its so hard to hear them.

  • I'm just me, but I more or less agree all of the pfizzbones'

that this bullshit micromanagement of the fucked up companies is nothing but grandstanding by phony politicians who, with zero knowledge of the contractual details involved are ignorant enough to do a lot of harm with stunts like this because it drives up the cost of future contracts which must have more contingencies.

Call your republican moron, if you have one, and tell them to stop playing like children & pretend to be thoughtful.
