Arrowhead Wine Enthusiasts Wine Tasting in Paso Robles

On September 26, 2009 , the Arrowhead Wine Enthusiasts met up in Paso Robles to do some wine tasting. We had 22 of our 60+ members attend. We visited four wineries: Denner, Mitchella, Chateau Margene, and Calcareous. We met the owners/winemakers at three of the four wineries, and timed the trip perfectly to see the arrival of the grapes from the vineyard; the destemming process, fermentation; pigeage; crush; etc. We also spent some time at the following wineries: Tobin James, Zoller Wine Styling, Vina Robles, August Ridge, Still Waters, Ancient Peaks, Clairborne & Churchill, Foxen, Chien, Ampelos, and Dragonette Cellars...not to mention some great dinners too!
