Why isn't Sappalicious doing the voice over work for Day 2?

What is the point of the "buzz meter" when the show is only going to present us certain material in pre-formated segments? To me, "buzz" means what is considered interesting to the mass audience, and what people would like to know more about (by extension). So if you are going to have a "buzz meter," that should be used by the producers to figure out what content the audience wants more of.

HOWEVER, in the context of the Comicon COVERAGE, G4 should be focusing on presenting ALL the content from the convention to the audience at home, not what people want to see (what the majority of people want to see, I should say). The reason being is this: If I want to know more about a subject, I'll go online for it.

G4 has been notorious for being very repetitive of material it presents to the audience.

To counter this, G4 should be thinking about what are major things to present, what are lesser, and divide up the content of each day's show accordingly. So things people want to see are spread out, the lesser known things not so. In this way, the audience can be turned on to new things, especially content they may not have otherwise encountered.

This also goes with the marketing and opening up of new audiences and sources of revenue. If a company realizes "Hey, we got a lot of interest in us because of G4 TV's coverage," they are going to approach G4 TV with a notion of purchasing more air time.

Right?

So what is the purpose of the buzz meter again?

The "Dark Knight" alternate reality game.

Basically, a cheap marketing ploy to raise awareness, interest in the upcoming film. They passed around dollar bills with a certain decal on them. People interested followed a website link, wandered around downtown San Diego, waited, counted, found a place where they signed a release form and got their faces painted, looked at a phone number sky-written, and then got some movie stills and a chance to see the new "trailer" for the film. (The trailer was the bat insignia that is destroyed by light rays with voice over.)

Check out the chick with a machine gun leg.

G4 has been using Stickam.com as a medium for having a live video feed from audience members and as a means of talking about what is going on with the current program and usually what is interesting to the audience at home. A self-created short-coming, however, is when they showcase a topic, then immediately ask for an audience response. The problem is they are often asking a random person, who could have little to no knowledge of the subject at hand, and who may have likely missed the previous segment since s/he was online, waiting to be interacted with.

In my opinion, a better method would be to pre-tape the audience interaction bits and have topics of discussion that the audience member would be familiar with. This will create for a more interesting exchange, in my opinion. Also, it would remove the "stress" of live tv, and allow the audience member to really express themselves, and hopefully share an opinion that you don't see on the show.

And Olivia Munn of course kissing more of Favreau's butt. ;)

Lamest villain: Stiltman. And the comic cover was with Spiderman. So that makes him a Stan "The Man" Lee creation.... Ouch. ;)

A big thank you to Pizza Hut for supporting G4 TV's Comic con coverage.

Interesting discussion on whether Hollywood has "ruined" Comicon. (I would say the massive number of fans crowded in there, and the organizers failing to accomodate is what is ruining the convention. And then there is the fact that things cost so much, which discourages a lot of people from coming.)

Scott Bowles nailed it "demographic con." Blair Butler presents an interesting idea that Hollywood can find new material at Comicon. But even Blair, who regularly goes to conventions, complained about the crowding.

Anyone else notice how much Kevin insults his fan base?

The Wolverine impersonator got a divorce, and was set up with a Poison Ivy cosplayer. (Nice car.)
