Heretic: d'Sparil (the Big DOS Battles Tour)

In Google the motto is: "Work smarter, not harder." I guess I couldn't work for Google as a Heretic player then. This particular boss isn't tough at all, but one can use a strategy. Plus I could use some serious training (not that it would help me much when it comes to FPS's).

This puny-looking "serpent rider" - d'Sparil - is the game's final boss. He almost is as puny as he looks, even on the hardest difficulty. I cut the ~12min scene to a less than 6 min @ 90+ MB to give the result as good image quality as possible, but it seems Youtube's format isn't built for such hasty moves. Too bad.

Even the game as a whole isn't very long. If you ever get that itch to kill a few #FF0000 pixels with a #00FF00 crossbow, without having to think much, go for Heretic - the great fun for one day.

EDIT: Next on the tour: something else than Heretic bloopers. It's just an unrecognizable 10min blob when uploaded. No point in that.

@corvus4eomer You can't let him summon a nation, that'd be infeasible. That's why it took me so many save-load cycles and there are so many cuts in the scene. I had to save before and after his almost every action.

Oh wow, I STILL play heretic. Only I play it in the DOOMSDAY engine with Quake 3-level graphics and HDR. I know that seems strange given my extreme level of DOS fanaticism, but this game really comes alive in DOOMSDAY. Once every year I spend a week going through this and Hexen. Really overlooked game.

I love seasonal rituals! I used to repeat quite a few short games on a regular basis, but now it's pretty much just Diablo every summer.

Overlooked they truly are. Hexen by me including. Somehow never stuck to it... (But Hexen 2 ruled my life in its time.)
