Merfu means tall in Swahili. Or so Google Translate would have me believe.
Anyway, this was my first (VERY ROUGH) turn at doing character animation in an enclosed set. Vertices be damned, the lion took so long to sculpt, even when reflecting geometry!
The plot is Merfu, a carved wooden sculpture, discovers he can move once the museum guards leave for the night. He looks around and sees Damaomi, the porcelain Chinese lion, and approaches him carefully. Merfu tries to teach him to dance but things don't pan out just right.
Again, very rough work, but I did the best that I could.
Music used: Various Selections from "Spirited Away" by Joe Hisaishi. Please don't sue me!
