Vote Jeff Adachi for Mayor of San Francisco this November.
Transcript:
I'm Jeff Adachi and I'm running for Mayor of San Francisco. I thought you might want to know why I decided not to take public financing. Public financing is when a politician takes tax payer dollars and uses it to pay for their campaign. You know those campaign mailers that you get in your mailbox? You're paying for it. When I found out that every candidate for mayor can receive up to $900,000 in public financing, I started thinking about all the programs that were being cut. I thought about the 10,000 kids that weren't able to go to summer school last year because the city didn't have 1 million dollars to help pay for it. San Francisco is under tremendous financial strain. Public financing is a good thing but it's not the right time. As your mayor, I will continue to make decisions like this that are in the best interest of the people and not myself. I've been making these decisions all my life, for the last nine years as public defender and I'll continue to make them as your mayor. I look forward to earning your vote. Thank you.
It's good to hear somebody talking about this stuff, instead of just going along with what everyone else is doing.
